The Meaning of Life is to Know Your Gift, the Purpose of Life is to Share It: the 3rd Seed of Hope

caring hope kindness purpose seeds of hope Aug 14, 2015

Welcome to the 3rd Seed of Hope.

I am sending this Seed to you with the hope that it brightens your day:-) A warm “Thank You” to those of you who sent more quotations from your own collections, as well as a photo. I have added them to the others in my 1st Seed of Hope and 2nd Seed of Hope for you to enjoy.

Here is the 3rd Seed which has just been “germinated” for you:

The meaning of life is to know your gift, the purpose of life is to share it.
……Pablo Picasso.

Coming to know and be comfortable with my gift has been a long and windy road. It’s much easier to help others know their gifts than to do that same with mine!

For many years I thought my gift centred on doing things that came easily, like starting projects and finding the resources they needed, while using the skills I enjoy like coaching and writing. Now I realise these are the tools that my gift needs to make itself helpful to others; when I am with people who are struggling to get through a tough time, we can talk about thoughts or actions that might help them that arise from these tools.

Carl Safina suggests that the challenges of life can bring out its beauty. Working in tune with this potential beauty, I use my gift to help find helpful outcomes from challenges for others as well as myself. Writing down the tools that my gift needs to be useful reminds me that purpose is about “we” not “me”.

How can my purpose help to pay the bills? That’s a story for next time!

This Seed is free for you to share with anyone who needs a brighter day:-)

I hope that this Seed inspires you towards your purpose with kindness.

Wendy
