About Wendy Campbell

and The Glastonbury Company

My husband Rob and I created The Glastonbury Company in 1989,
named after the ancient market town of Glastonbury in the United Kingdom.

I loved the story of the town. Its abbey had been the centre of the local community for many centuries. Through kindness the nuns helped the people of the town and region to find their resilience as they struggled through wars, famines, plagues and other devastating challenges.

My purpose for The Glastonbury Company has always been to provide a place of grace for people in need of such a kindness. To achieve this, I created a way of living with kindness that helps people tackle whatever challenges life delivers, with kindness to themselves first.

In 1989, my first focus was the then-new computers which were arriving on office desks all around the world, changing the world of work forever. The name Glastonbury was perfect, bringing the ancient culture of the town of Glastonbury into the present.

Using my extensive background in coaching, training and technology, I built a team of kind, caring and competent trainers. We co-created a methodology of customised training, to kindly teach and guide people to resiliently handle this latest change to their workplaces in ways that were kind to them first. Not having grown up with computers, I'd found them intimidating at first, so I understood how these new machines intimidated other people too. Our programs focussed on the people as the clever ones in the office - not the machines - and helped them to overcome their fear and find news ways to work that their computers allowed.

Since then, I have added creative writing (which took more courage as I learned to write my own words for others to read) and the 7 Keys of Kindness (approaches to kindly embrace life changes) to my portfolio. Using these and my other skills, for the past 20+ years I have been working with peers in the Resilient Leadership Community to co-create new ways of leadership of self and others, centred on the kindness - to yourself first - that is perfect for a chaotic world. The community has now disbanded, sadly, as its time was done. However our co-creation of the 7 Keys of Kindness remains, and helped to make me what I am today for which I will always be grateful. I am now co-creating the online Keys of Kindness courses with my dear friend and colleague Dr Sally Paulin.

Called kind-hearted and a force of nature, I walk the talk of what I help you to achieve. Deeply committed to the Western Australian community in which I live, I have been involved with community organisations since the age of 16. Meaning and joy for me is  supporting people, groups and organisations whose visions and goals seek resilience grounded in kindness

I have been married to my beloved husband Rob - retired doctor, nature photographer and fellow adventurer - for 50 years. We have three adult children, three adult children-in-law and two delightful grand-children. As well as sharing the care of our family especially our gorgeous grand-children, I love learning, co-creating, reading and I adore being in the outdoors, especially with Rob.
